Leon L. Wehmiller, 78, of Crothersville, passed away at 8:05 AM Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Born on December 4, 1929 in Jackson County, Indiana he was the son of Herman and Wilma (Goecker) Wehmiller who both preceded him in death.

He graduated from Tampico High School 1947, a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Austin, IN where he was very active serving in every church office including former president of the congregation, served two terms on the Crothersville School Corporation School Board 1972-1976 & 1992-1996.

Leon loved his family and friends very deeply, and enjoyed gathering for many years at the BMW reunions.

He worked for Cummins Engine Company starting on January 2, 1963 and retiring on March 31, 1987 where he worked as a tool crib attendant.

On October 2, 1948 he married Benale (Rider) Wehmiller who survives in Crothersville.

Other survivors include a daughter and son in law, Sandy (Darrell) Brumett of Morrow, Ohio; a son and a daughter in law, Benjie (Jane) Wehmiller, New Albany, IN; four grandchildren, Kyle (Steffanie) Brumett, Defiance, Ohio; Cole (Carrie) Brumett, Jeffersonville, IN; Jenise Wehmiller, New Albany, IN; Brett Wehmiller, New Albany, IN; one great grandson, Leon Maxwell Brumett, Defiance, Ohio; two brothers, Marlin (Martha) Wehmiller, Seymour, IN; Willis (Rosanna) Wehmiller, Seymour; one sister, Mary Lou Cremeens, Crothersville, IN.
A brother, Daryl Wehmiller in 1960, preceded him in death.

Reverend Scott Kozisek and Reverend Mark Wooten will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Adams Funeral Home in Crothersville with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 and after 9:00 AM on Wednesday at Adams Funeral Home.
