Janet was born in Jackson County on November 15, 1949 where she has remained a lifelong resident. She was a 1968 graduate of Crothersville High School and a college graduate of Indiana University Southeast earning her bachelors degree. Janet was a social worker at Life Spring Mental Health in Scottsburg, and was a member of the Church of Christ in Seymour and liked to sing karaoke. Janet is survived by her mother Sarah M. (Stout) Monroe, Crothersville; three daughters, Rachel L. Nott (Michael), Crothersville, Kimberly A. Vance, Seymour, Melissa K. Skaggs (Eric), Freetown, IN; four grandchildren, Alycia R. Riley, Crothersville, Jordan W. Vance, Seymour, E. Logan Skaggs, Brownstown, Megan M. Nott, Crothersville; three sisters, Wyanna K. Minton (Marshall), Crothersville, Aurora “Alice” Hildreth (Charles), Paris Crossing, Teresa D. Rutherford, Bloomington; she was preceded in death by her father Roy R. Monroe and her sister Elizabeth Ann Stout. Pastor Larry Sharpe will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Adams Funeral Home in Crothersville with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 and after 9:00 AM on Wednesday at Adams Funeral Home in Crothersville.
